Celebrating Braintastic! Values for World Values Day

World Values Day happened on 16th October this year, and people celebrated the values that matter most to them. At Braintastic! Science, our values are at the heart of everything we do – so let's dive in.

Science is for everyone

Growing up, most of the scientists we saw were stereotypical ‘mad scientists’ – old, white men with wild hair, wearing lab coats. But we know that there’s so much more to the scientific community than that... and so we’re constantly trying to smash those stereotypes, because science is for everybody!

Our expert presenters are all great role models for any child who’s interested in science. Our team includes many inspirational women in STEM, and presenters from BAME, LGBTQ+ and neurodiverse backgrounds. We know how important it is for young people to see people like them in science jobs, so they can be inspired to explore the wonderful world of STEM too!

Accessibility is key

Science can sometimes feel very daunting and difficult to access. That’s why all Braintastic! shows are designed to be as accessible as possible. We can tailor our shows for the audience’s needs, including relaxed formats and SEN-friendly shows*. We also love working with BSL interpreters, to make sure as many people as possible can enjoy themselves! We aim to make our shows friendly and inclusive, welcoming absolutely everybody and making sure everyone can get involved.

As neuroscience and psychology experts, we celebrate neurodiversity in everything we do. Everybody’s brain is unique, and our shows highlight the strength that comes from difference. Many of our presenters are neurodivergent, and love nothing more than talking about their personal journeys to discovering all of the things that they’re brilliant at. So many of the most important scientific discoveries have been made by people with autism, ADHD and dyslexia, and it’s so important to celebrate that.

Our show Am I Normal? explores the science behind individual differences, questioning whether the idea of ‘normal’ exists, and celebrating the things that make us unique.

*We’re always happy to tailor our shows to your needs, so please let us know if there’s anything particular that you want or need while booking and we’ll do everything we can to accommodate you.

Curiosity is important

How many times have you said the words “This is probably a silly question, but...”? Well, at Braintastic! Science, we know that there’s no such thing as a silly question – and we would know, because we’re constantly asking (and being asked) so many questions. Every scientific discovery starts with a question, and that spark of curiosity is what drives us to explore brand new things.

All our shows encourage curiosity, and include a live Q&A where young (and not so young) people can ask the presenter all their most burning questions. Over the years, we’ve answered hundreds of brilliant questions, and can guarantee that not a single one of them was silly!

Do you have questions of your own? Why not send them to us? You can email us at

hello@braintasticscience.com or message us on X, BlueSky, Facebook and Instagram (@BraintasticSci) using the hashtag #CuriosityCorner, and ask us your most burning questions about the amazing brain. Our expert presenters answer every question we get, and may even make a video answering some of our favourites.
