And with that, 2025 is coming to a close – and what a year! Before we dive into 2026, we’ve been taking a look back at our favourite parts of the past year… along with giving a little sneak peek for what’s in store next year.

The numbers…

Our presenters performed at 16 festivals (plus plenty of primary and secondary schools, summer schools, and Christmas lecture events) across 19 towns and cities in three different countries.

Your favourite show this year was Am I Normal?, our celebration of neurodiversity and individual differences, which we performed a whopping 18 times! This was closely followed by 14 runs of Amazing Animals, plus plenty of performances of That’s NonSense (9), Hack Your Brain (3), Mastering Memory (6) and Your Irrational Brain (7)!

Our most popular hands-on workshop was Sensational Science, which we ran at seven different schools and science festivals, along with Science and Creativity (6) and Your Resilient Brain (3), plus piloting our new Careers Workshop!

Phew!

2025: A breakdown

January: We kicked off the year with Nate piloting our Psychology Careers Workshop at Whitmore High School in London (on his birthday!)

February: February half-term is always packed full of science festivals, and this year we performed shows at Nottingham Festival of Science and Curiosity and Norwich Science Festival (psst... we'll be back at both of these festivals in 2026!)

March: March is our favourite time of year. The days are getting longer, the trees are starting to bud… and it’s British Science Week! This week, we went to schools all around England, and visited ColliderFest in Hull and Southampton Science and Engineering Festival in, uh, Southampton.

Summer: School may be out, but our presenters were still hard at work. We went to Somerscience in Castle Cary and the first St Anne’s on the Sea Science Spectacular in Blackpool! Plus, we taught fun, interactive seminars about memory and unconscious bias for students at Oxford Royale’s international summer school.

September: It was back to school, and in between teaching secondary school students how to master memory and improve their revision skills, we went to the Cambridge Alumni Festival.

Nate Rae, a white man with brown hair wearing a yellow shirt, on the Mind and Body Stage at New Scientist Live

October: We returned to a couple of our favourite regular festivals this year, performing shows at Chelmsford Science Festival and New Scientist Live’s schools day!

November: November sees Ireland’s Science Week, and our annual Irish road trip! This year, Nate went to schools and science fairs in Galway, Tipperary, Cavan and Monaghan. In the meantime, our newest presenters, Yaz and Eugenia, went to Pembrokeshire to run some shows and workshops at the Darwin Centre.

December: We rounded off the year with some brilliant Christmas events – and a little international travel. While Nate performed at the Honourable Company of Gloucestershire’s Christmas lectures series, Ginny was off to Poland for a weekend of shows at Silesian Science Festival!

Finally, we finished off the year with a bang, with Nate and Ginny both performing sets at Cosmic Shambles Network’s Nine Lessons and Carols for Curious People!

What a year!

The presenters…

Alongside Braintastic! Science founder Ginny, and long-running presenters Nate, Katie and Becca, we welcomed three new presenters to our team – the brilliant Ria, Yaz and Eugenia! Keep an eye out, because we hope you’ll be seeing more of them next year…

What did you think of our shows?

There’s nothing we love more than hearing from our audiences, so here’s a sample of some of the brilliant feedback we got this year.

Nate was wonderful at our Family Fun Day in Cavan. Nate presented three shows across the day for family groups so the age range was very varied in the room, but Nate did a wonderful job of keeping their attention and sparking curiosity in Science. Thanks for a wonderful day!”

Cavan Monaghan Science Festival

“We had many comments from visitors stating how useful and relevant the content of the show was, in particular helping children who are Neurodiverse to resonate and appreciate their ways of thinking. Thank you for making such a huge impact on our audiences!”

Southampton Science and Technology Festival

“Always love working with Braintastic: professional, engaging and enthusiastic. Have recommended them to others, always enjoy watching their shows at other festivals. I have worked with you before and would love you to come back to Colliderfest next year!”

ColliderFest

“Our stage host really enjoyed both shows by Nate and gave him excellent feedback.”

New Scientist Live

The presenter teaching the Braintastic! workshop was brilliant. Great mix of children interaction and learning. My children really enjoyed it.”

Galway Science and Technology Festival

“The feedback from the students was amazing and the teachers thoroughly enjoyed it.”

Next year…

We’re already making plans, including returning to some of our favourite science fairs – and some brand new ones! We’re also hoping to launch some new content, including a brand-new drop-in for science fairs and a careers workshop for secondary students interested in psychology. Stay tuned for more…

We’re taking bookings for schools and science events for 2026. From great shows for Science Week, revision prep sessions and fun ways of engaging students with STEM topics, to live shows and drop-ins for science fairs, we have something for you!

Plus, in honour of this week’s Science Week theme, Curiosity: What’s Your Question?, we’re re-launching #CuriosityCorner, where our expert presenters answer your most burning questions about the brain. Send your questions to hello@braintasticscience.com to find out more!

See you next year!
